JOHOR BARU: Johor has many tourist spots that are not affected by the floods, said State Tourism and Environment Committee chairman Freddie Long.
“If they cannot go to places such as Desaru or Mersing, they can always find a substitute,” he said.
“There are countless beaches here, in addition to places of historic interest.
“Tour guides should have no problem recommending these places to visitors.”
Long is confident that flood-affected popular spots will re-open soon.
“This year, we are hoping to get 17 million tourists,” he added.
“It’s possible because we managed to near double the numbers in 2006 from the year before that.”
