Unwind at Lata Lembik

RAUB: The name sounds unusual but Lata Lembik (placid waterfall) is a picnic spot popular among locals because of its cool and clear stream surrounded by lush greenery.

Located in the Batu Talam state constituency, 40km from Raub, it is also a yearly venue of the Titiwangsa Expedition where participants traverse from Lata Lembik upstream to the upper reaches of Slim River in Perak.

Raub district officer Abdul Kadir Awang Bakar said Lata Lembik, which was opened to the public seven years ago, was located near Buntu Post, an orang asli settlement on the Pahang-Perak border.

Cool: The Lata Lembik waterfall in Raub is in the Batu Talam state constituency.
Administered by the Raub district office and the Kela Village Development and Security Committee, it has amenities such as a public toilet, food stalls, surau and multipurpose hall and an open space ideal for camping, motivational seminars and Family Day activities.

Abdul Kadir said that to capitalise on its tourism potential, chalets would be built at Lata Lembik with an allocation from the Tourism Ministry under the Ninth Malaysia Plan so that visitors could stay longer at the picnic spot.

Batu Talam headman A.B. Lah Mat Isa said visitors could now drive to the waterfall with the completion a new road in the area or take a bus or taxi.
