GOING all out in full flower power, Sheraton Penang Hotel is vying for honours at the inter-hotel best decoration competition held in conjunction with Floral Fest 2007.
Its general manager Ahmad Buk-hari Hamzah said: “This is among our efforts to support the government’s programmes.
“I understand that there are six hotels in Penang which are taking part in the competition.”
For a week starting on Friday, the hotel’s front service staff would be wearing floral-themed uniform.
A stunning garden showcasing both artificial and fresh flowers is also featured at the lobby which is permeated with a lavender scent.
Its sales and marketing director Damian Chua said the hotel was spending about RM15,000 for the project.
A cocktail reception attended by assemblymen Cheang Chee Gooi and Looi Swee Cheang was held at the event’s launching on Friday night.
Long-staying guests and travel trade representatives were also there.
