KOTA KINABALU: Warisan Square, a new street mall in the heart of this Sabah capital city, will enable the state to be a shopping centre apart from being a “nature and adventure” destination, State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat said.
The new street mall is now a hot spot for tourists as it houses international retailers like Esprit, Quiksilver, Roxy, Padini Concept, SODA, Extreme Billabong, Charles & Keith, Starbucks and San Francisco Coffee.
“Previously, we could not sell Sabah as a shopping destination. Now, with Warisan Square, we can,” said Chong, who is also Sabah deputy chief minister, at the soft launch of the property here recently.
He also said he was impressed by the confidence shown by international retail investors who were mostly first-time investors in the state. – Bernama
