Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya Chinese New Year Menus

FISHY delights abound at Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya, to help usher in the Year of the Pig.
The yee sang, a Malaysian culinary creation, tops the list of delicacies on the Chinese New Year menus that will soon be available at the hotel. Grass carp and salmon will hog the limelight as the focus ingredients in the yee sang at the Utara Coffee House and Laksamana Ballroom respectively.
Grass Carp Yee Sang will feature in the buffet spread during dinner between Feb 2 and March 5. The Prosperity Buffet Dinner will cost RM42++.
Reunion dinners will be hosted at the ballroom and Nakhoda 1, 2 or 3 or Admiral 1 or 2 function rooms.
Salmon Yee Sang will kick off the Golden Prosperity and Diamond Prosperity dinner packages, catering for 10 celebrants each. The eight- and nine-course dinners are priced at RM618++ and RM888++, respectively.

Armada's Chinese chef Leong Chee Kong revealed to the media during a recent preview that he preferred using smoked salmon for the yee sang because it had more flavour.
“This year, Armada is focusing on Sichuan and Thai specialities, which is why our menus offer, among others, Deep-fried Siakap with Mango Salad, Tom Yam Seafood Soup and Angel Clam with Sour Chilli Sauce,” he pointed out.
“Such spicy dishes will fire the taste buds of Malaysians who enjoy Chinese food but find most of the dishes a little subdued in taste. Armada also caters for business travellers from several Asian countries so the Sichuan-Thai focus is relevant,” said hotel public relations manager Myza Nordin.
However, standard dishes like Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Sea Cucumber, Roasted Duck with Plum Sauce, Steamed Pomfret Hong Kong-style and Steamed Patin Fish will be available, too.

A Chinese New Year high-tea – at which Muhibbah fare awaits – will be available on Feb 18 and 19 at RM28++.
