Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said immediately after getting information that the guidebook contained such advertisements, the printers were ordered to stop work.
He said only 100 copies were printed for the launch on Tuesday. They were only distributed to members of the press and invited guests at the function.
“We are supposed to print 140,000 copies to be distributed free nationwide and worldwide in the first quarter of the year.
“We will reprint the guidebook, minus the advertisements,'' he said when contacted yesterday.
The directory in the Yellow Pages section had four full colour advertisements that offered professional and traditional massages.
One of the advertisements stated that the VIP professional massage for foreigners was available 24 hours in Genting Highlands, Bukit Tinggi, Port Dickson and the Klang Valley, while another was about a woman “At your Door within minutes – call anytime”.
