MasterCard Worldwide unveiled yesterday its MasterCard Visit Malaysia Year 2007 Privileges Programme, the company's bid to encourage more foreigners to visit Malaysia.
The programme includes initiatives such as the Privileges Programme booklet and the Bank Islam Tourist Friend MasterCard Unembossed Prepaid Card.
Both are aimed at providing exclusive benefits and privileges to MasterCard customers.
MasterCard Worldwide vice-president and senior country manager, Malaysia and Brunei, Jim Cheah said that about 200,000 copies of the booklet had been distributed to all 41 Tourism Malaysia offices worldwide and other “entry points.”
“This is going to be a special year for all of us,” Cheah said, referring to the twin celebration of the country's 50th year of independence and the Visit Malaysia Year.
He also said MasterCard would be the official card for Malaysia's mega sales carnival and year-end sales.
