THE F1 fever has hit town and is further heightened by the event's cocktail reception at RP Entertainment Centre in The Saujana Kuala Lumpur.
It was held for guests and corporate clients.
Sepang F1 Circuit sales and sponsorship manager Izuddin Rosli presented a slideshow on the irresistible deals on tickets of various categories to the guests, among them hotel general manager Herbert Laubichler-Pichler.
Sepang F1 sales representative took ticket and discounted packages orders from the guests. Guests later tucked into a sumptuous spread as waiters served free-flow of soft drinks and beers, sponsored by the hotel. The coffee by Nepresso Coffee was also a hit with many.
The night’s event proceeded with a fashion show by I. Kartini, a boutique taking after name of owner Kartini Illias.
As the lights dimmed, models gracefully stepped on stage parading batik-inspired creations of evening wear, smart casual attires, as well as traditional sarongs and shawls.
Besides women’s wear, she also designs men’s apparel like shirts and ties.
According to public relations manager Jasvin Sidhu’ the fashion show is put up in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007 to expose the beautiful batik to local and international clients and as a way of supporting local designers.
“The hotel would be working on more future events with Kartini,” she added.
A lucky draw session added merriment to the reception as guests eagerly waited for their names to be called.
There was more partying as RP’s resident band, Retrospect, took centre stage belting out R&B, jazz, and other evergreen numbers.
Many stayed on until 10pm as they sat on the sofas, listening to the music and chatted away as others went around making ticket inquiries and purchasing tickets.
