The Higher Education Ministry plans to link up with Tourism Malaysia to promote educational tours.
Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said edu-tourism was not well strategised in the past.
Now, there would be more emphasis to attract students and their families to visit local educational institutions, he said.
“Edu-tours are not only for students who are here completing a degree but also for those who want to pursue short courses.
“Many international students have been enrolling in local institutions to learn English, which proves that we can provide quality English courses,” he said when opening the Facon Education Fair 2007 here yesterday.
