The newly opened RM150mil G Hotel at Gurney Drive wants to be a preferred destination for corporations.
G Hotel owner's representative Billy Theodas told StarBiz in an interview he expected about 50% of the hotel's clientele would be from the corporate segment.
“The leisure, and meetings and incentives (MICE) clientele categories would comprise 40% and 10% respectively,” he said.
Theodas said the 304 rooms at the G hotel were larger than most standard, deluxe rooms, and suites of other hotels.
“The room sizes ranged between 38sq m and 150sq m, depending on whether they were standard, superior, deluxe, executive floor rooms, suites, or serviced apartments,” he said.
“We understand that being away from home for business is stressful. At G Hotel we try to make it as enjoyable as possible by offering our guests the comfort and convenience of home,” he said.
“This is in line with our positioning as a home within hotel.”
Theodas said G Hotel also had 29 serviced apartments with one and two bedrooms to cater to corporate clients who wanted a longer period of accommodation.
For the MICE segment, G Hotel has a grand ballroom that can accommodate about 700 people.
“There are also five function rooms that are ideal for board meetings, business planning sessions, seminars, as well as working lunches. The Chinese restaurant is expected to start business in mid-April, while the spa facilities should open for business in two months,” he said.
G Hotel, which opened for business in January, is owned and operated by G Hotel Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Etika Cekap Sdn Bhd.
The hotel is located next to the Gurney Plaza Shopping Mall.
