MALAYSIAN Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA)'s inaugural B2B MATTA Tourism Exchange 2007 (MTEX2007) will take place on April 15 at the Hotel Equatorial Melaka.
The aim is to promote inbound tourism, provide a networking platform and contribute to the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 target of 20.1 million arrivals.
MATTA is targeting at least 150 buyers, with a ratio of two-thirds Malaysian and one-third ASEAN. At press time, MATTA had received 80 confirmed buyers and 60 confirmed sellers.
MATTA's vice-president outbound and organising committee member, Mr John Tan, said: "This two-day event, beginning April 15, will provide a platform for members to showcase their products, network with local and ASEAN contacts and negotiate business deals."
The event, originally scheduled in September last year, was postponed due to poor response.
