Malaysia, Sri Lanka to jointly promote bilateral tourism

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia and Sri Lanka have agreed to set up an inter-governmental mechanism to promote bilateral tourism.

Malaysia’s tourism minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan and his Sri Lankan counterpart, Milinda Moragoda, made this new pact during the former's visit to Sri Lanka.

Tengku Adnan’s mission to Sri Lanka was to woo more Sri Lankans to Malaysia.

Malaysia targets 27,000 Sri Lankan tourists this year, from 20,200 in 2006.
