Aussie found dead in Hotel at Jalan Bukit Bintang

AN Australian tourist was found dead in his hotel room in Jalan Bukit Bintang last night.

Webster Patrick Alexander’s body was discovered by hotel staff at 8pm after they went into his room to check on him.

The deceased, 63, was supposed to check out of the hotel at noon but failed to do so, prompting the hotel management to check his 10th floor room.

Alexander, clad only in a pair of shorts, was found lying on the bed.

A team from Kuala Lumpur police headquarters rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the hotel.

Police have classified the case as sudden death.

It is learnt that Alexander, believed to be suffering from several illnesses, had slit both his wrists with a pair of scissors and left a note containing a farewell and an apology to his friends and hotel guests.

It is also learnt that police recovered several bottles of medicine in the room.

Initial investigations revealed that the deceased had been staying at the hotel since Feb 5.

His body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
