Malaysia a Wedding Destination

GETTING married soon and want the perfect wedding but not too sure where to start?

The upcoming KL ''One Stop'' Wedding Expo 2007 may well be the answer to your prayer, offering wedding concepts and ideas to make all wedding wishes come true.

Organised by GC Media Corporation Sdn Bhd, the expo will feature more than 80 booths including 13 famous bridal houses that will offer promotions and solutions from beauty and fashion apparel to jewellery and accessories, health and cosmetics, slimming, food and beverages for hotels and restaurants, as well as honeymoon travel packages.

GC Media Corporation is a seasoned organiser of such events, having organised large-scale jewellery, fashion and lifestyle exhibitions, among others.

According to a spokesman from the organising team, the event is aimed at making Malaysia a wedding destination as well as promoting the country as a tourist destina-tion, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

“We have the participation of some 11 related industries in the expo, making this an event that should be attended not only by couples but also those interested in related industries, as well as tourists,” said the spokesman.

He added that the event would be one of the biggest wedding expos ever, with support from the Federal Territories and Tourism ministries as well as media partners including TV3, ntv7 and 8TV.

“We hope to give our exhibitors the best support we can through publicity from our media partners,” he said, adding that a turn-out of more than 80,000 visitors was expected.

In addition to the different solutions offered by the exhibitors, there will also be interesting activities such as bridal fashion shows, make-up and hair shows, lucky draws and performances by local celebrities.

Prizes worth more than RM100,000 are up for grabs, including hotel and resort packages, as well as meal vouchers.

In addition, the first 100 couples to call and register their attendance to the expo will receive a voucher worth RM388 which is redeemable at the booth of their choice.

The first 1,000 visitors to walk in, meanwhile, will be entitled to attractive door gifts.

The exhibition will take place from 10am to 10pm from April 27 to 29 at Hall 2, Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.
