Shopping not so Vital to Hotel's Corporate Guests

Hotels not located next to shopping malls may seem to be at a disadvantage when it comes to attracting tourists, but Eastin Hotel marketing communications director Jade Tan does not see it as a problem.

“We are a business class hotel and our guests are usually corporate guests whose main concern is that the hotel is located near offices and meeting places,” said Tan.

“Corporate guests are also constantly on the move and this can be a problem for shopping mall hotels where traffic congestion is usually a problem.”

Far from the crowd: The Eastin Hotel in Section 16, Petaling Jaya, attracts guests whose main concern is being near offices and meeting places.
According to Tan, the guests at Eastin Hotel prefer to be able to move in and out of the hotel without the hassle of a traffic jam.

The hotel for this group of clientele is also a place to relax and unwind, and having to go through human or traffic congestion, is not what corporate clients look forward to after a hard day’s work.

“It is a different market altogether. Having said that, we do have complimentary shuttle service for our guests to nearby shopping malls,” said Tan.
