Air Asia has inked a partner deal with one of Formula One's most successful teams, AT&T Williams. The agreement comes in time for the Air Asia logo to be represented on AT&T Williams racecars at the Malaysian Grand Prix this weekend. Williams won nine world championships and has started the 2007 season in good shape with Nico Rosburg finishing seventh in the season opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, collecting two points towards the drivers' championship. Since Malaysia's Sepang circuit was first included on the calendar in 1999, Williams has won one of the eight Malaysian Grand Prix held there. That victory came in 2002, with Ralf Schumacher the successful man behind the wheel Air Asia CEO Tony Fernandes and Patrick Head, co-owner of Williams, will announce further details of the sponsorship tomorrow, April 4. |
