Malaysia Airlines (MAS), which will take part in the Penang Matta fair for the first time, said it would surprise visitors with some special offers.
Its northern region area manager Wan Mohd Ebrahem said on Friday that the special offers would be for air tickets and travel packages.
"We are not new to Matta fairs but this is the first time we are taking up booths at the Penang fair," he said.
He was speaking at a press conference held to announce the three-day annual fair which would begin on June 29 at the Penang International Sports Arena (Pisa) here.
Organising chairman Ann Tan said visitors to the fair could expect more attractive domestic travel packages in conjuction with Visit Malaysia 2007.
"This year we are also bringing in Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Kedah, Pahang and Johor to introduce more local attractions to the people," she said.
She said 72 organisations would set up 291 booths at the fair, which she expected would attract at least 40,000 visitors.
Tan said many interesting side events would be held during the fair including cultural performances by Thailand Toursim and a traditional handicraft demonstration by Taiwan Tourism.
"Other than some free goodies, visitors also stand a chance to win attractive lucky draw prizes such as air tickets to various destinations," she added.
The fair will open from 5pm to 9pm on June 29 and 10am to 9pm on June 30 and July 1.
Entry fee is RM2 for adults and free for children below 12.
