Pack your bags and get your travelling shoes on – the Greatest Tourism Carnival 2007 is back, with great prizes and travel offers up for grabs.
The annual mid-year event kicks off Friday at the Putra World Trade Centre, offering a variety of holiday packages for both local and international destinations.
More than 380 booths are expected to be occupied by 100 firms, which include airlines, hotels and resorts, tour operators and travel agents.
Jointly organised by the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) and Asia Pacific Tourism Events (APTE), visitors to the event stand to win cash and prizes worth over RM300,000 from the early bird surprises, visitors contest, buyers contest and pavilion contest.
Malaysia International Travel Mart (MITM) and APTE chairman Judy Cheah said, “Coupled with the support of Tourism Malaysia and the on-going Visit Malaysia 2007, the event will definitely be nothing short of a carnival-charged atmosphere of sheer excitement, entertainment and merriment.
“Simply put, as our theme goes, we are enticing travellers to Explore the World ... Like Never Before!
“In addition to this, Hong Kong actress/singer Karen Mok will be lending her star appeal to the event. Watch out for her,” she said.
The 37-year-old performer, who is also the ambassador for Hong Kong Tourism, is expected to grace the launch of the programme at Putra World Trade Centre about 8.30pm on Friday.
Entrance fee for adults is RM3 while admission for children is free.
The three-day event opens from 10am to 9pm Friday, while over the weekend, the carnival is open from 9.30am to 9.30pm.
