JOHOR BARU, SUN:
Johor is expecting an influx of foreign tourists with the opening of two free access zones (FAZ) here. State Executive Councillor Freddie Long said the designated passport-free areas, will provide world-class entertainment and lifestyle facilities. "Currently Johor attracts 24,000 Singapore visitors a day.
With two FAZ next to the major entry points, Johor can expect an increase in tourist arrivals," he said. "It is an innovative idea. Foreign visitors could come, shop and dine, and even stay in a resort or hotel in the zone without having to go through the hassle of immigration clearance," he said.
