Swine Flu Update - Travel Patterns - AAPA

THE swine flu pandemic has had minimal impact on travel patterns so far as passengers can be trusted to make informed decisions, according to Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) director-general, Mr Andrew Herdman.

“We very much appreciate the strong leadership being shown by the WHO in coordinating the global response to the current outbreak, including careful evaluation of the risk of a more serious global pandemic," Mr Herdman said.

He added: "The safety and well-being of the travelling public are always uppermost in our minds. Asia-Pacific carriers are well-prepared to handle health crises including those involving communicable diseases."

Closely tracking the emerging swine flu issue, AAPA will continue to work with other industry stakeholders, ensuring instantaneous dissemination of further updates.
