MO staff spruce up KLCC Park

THE Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur did its part in making the world a greener place by organising a gotong-royong at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) Park recently.

A total of 65 employees spent a Monday morning working together to clean up the park.

It was not the first time that the hotel was carrying out an environmentally-friendly activity as it had previously held a tree-planting campaign in Universiti Malaya.

Resident manager Richard Johnson said they believed that they could make a difference in the community.

He said environmental awareness was not always something conducted outdoors and that the offices at the hotel were also going green.

A participant, Nicole Andres, said activities like this were good for fostering teamwork among colleagues.

“It’s not every day that we step out of the office and do something that really revives teamwork.

“It is nice that we are encouraged to be environment- friendly,” she said.
