Resort honoured with travel award

GENTING Highlands Resort was honoured with the prestigious International Travel Award – The 2007 World Travel Award at the resort hall of Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa, on the island of Providenciales during the 14th Annual World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony.

The glitzy event was attended by 330 representatives from the travel trade, VIPs as well as local and international media from 30 countries across the globe. Genting Highlands Resorts was voted world’s best among other nominees namely Caesars Palace Las Vegas (USA), D’oreale Grande, Emperors Palace (South Africa), MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Vegas (USA), Park Hyatt Mendoza (Argentina), Star City Hotel & Casino, Sydney (Australia) and The Venetian (Macau).

We have always strived to provide the best products and services to our valued customers and to be recognised tonight by our fellows peers, the who’s who of the travel and tourism industry is definitely a big plus to us.” said Resorts World Bhd executive vice president Alan Teo who received the award on the organisation’s behalf.

The World Travel Awards were conceived in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world’s travel and tourism industry. Travel professionals and discerning travellers had come to regard the over 1,000 trophies awarded by the World Travel Awards in different categories as a good endorsement.

Over the years, Resorts World Bhd has carved its name as one of Asia’s leading integrated entertainment, leisure and hospitality operator.
