Westin flag lands at Langkawi Island, Malaysia

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Langkawi Island Resort Sdn Bhd, an affiliate of PT Rajawali Corporation, announced that Sheraton Perdana Resort will be reflagged as The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa as of January 2007. The resort is undergoing a significant upgrade as part of the reflag. Upon completion of the renovation works, the resort will be represented by all distinguished Westin signature amenities and services that Westin guests have come to expect from this luxury brand.

"Scheduled to open in early 2007, the resort is undergoing major upgrade works to its extensive facilities and will also add 30 hotel villas and a luxury destination spa. All guest rooms and villas will feature Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed® and Heavenly Bath®. The resort which is extremely popular with meeting and incentive planners, will also add an additional 11,000 square feet of meeting space. Langkawi Island Resort Sdn Bhd is also developing luxury residential villas to be sold to private clients. These residential villas will be known as The Westin Residences, Langkawi.
